Sunday, Jan. 25. Tuk tuk day

Today is our full day tour with Paul from Best Tuk Tuk Tours.  His parents are both from the U.S. But he was born and raised in Chiang Mai.  He custom makes tours to suit the client.

Our first stop was the Tiger Kingdom.  You get to see several tigers and then choose a size (we chose the smallest) to go into the enclosure and pet.  Pretty amazing.....

The next stop was to visit a community made up of all the hill tribes.  The king had the idea to set up the village and invite families to live there and invite tourists to learn about their cultures.

Stop 3 The elephants

Here we had a great lunch: green chicken curry, spring roll, fried pork, chicken with cashew nuts and iced latte.  After lunch we went and fed the elephants and had our pics taken.

Then we watched them have their bath and then do their variety show.

The next stop was for a cold drink and to enjoy observing a couple of water buffalo.

On the way back to our place, Paul stopped at the flower market and bought each of us a flower bud necklace.

We said a large bundle of orchids would be $150 baht or $6

A great day.... But we are ready to rest....
