Wednesday, April 15

We were up early enjoying the waves crashing as we had our coffee and yoghurt outside.  A peanut butter banana toasted sandwich completed my breakfast.

We spent the morning lazing around....

Around 11:30 we left for the waterfalls. On the way Bruce had fun surprising people by squirting them
with water. It is the last day of Somgkran.

Our weapons of squirting fun

80% of this island is a National forest including the part where the waterfall is located.  The entrance fee for foreigners is $200 baht, residents 40 baht. The waterfall was only a 500 m walk.... But it was strenuous for me - hills, roots, rocky etc.

Look at these cute little mushrooms

Great moss on the stumps

Lime green leaf :)

Crystal clear water

It is dry season, so waterfall is much less

It was very nice on the way there as well as at the waterfall.  Bruce, Ahya, and Dainty went in the water.  They said they had a free fish spa.  Little fish were nipping at their legs and feet.

Next it was time for a late lunch as it was already 2:00. Dainty took us to a resort that she used to stay at. The food was good. I had a prawn burger. Bruce had macaroni with pork and garlic.

Thai places often have these clay kids.....

Spa time! I had a one hour coconut/pineapple  body scrub with massage for $550 baht.
Bruce went to a different place and had a one hour oil, massage and a one hour body scrub for $1100 baht.  He said it wasn't very good.... And he thinks they charged him too much.

After our massage we went next door for a drink.

We picked up food to take home - two chickens, papaya salad, steamed rice. We also had mango, sticky rice and coconut sauce. Delicious!
