Thursday, March 26

We got up and had peanut butter and banana on toast along with yoghurt.  Then we decided to head over to Makro (Thailand's Costco) and buy beer and groceries.  It is about a 10 minute walk even though it is across the street.

Check out their hours:

We looked around and I had to take pics of some things we just don't see back home.

These are prawns

Frogs , not even skinned

Bakery, very nice bread selection

Lots of fresh chicken in a huge heap

Eggs- not refrigerated

Seriously-  a whole shelf unit of MSG

the same amount of shelf space for chili sauce

The liquor section- of course we were ready to check-out at 10:30, but we aren't allowed to buy alcohol until 11:00, so we had browse the whole store.

We ended up with $2300 baht worth of groceries $100.  We headed home pretty heavy bags.

My new glasses

We headed home and finally got around to doing laundry.  The washing machine is on the balcony.  45 minutes later they were ready to hang up.  About three hours later they were all perfectly dry!

We got ready to go into town.  First stop was the tailors.  Surprisingly, the moo moo fits fine, loose and comfy, and the fabric so silky. Lol (it is silk).  The dress is cute except needs to be taken in under the arms a bit.  The three pairs of linen/silk blend fit great.  So, Saturday the dress should be ready.

Next, we were off to Nine Optic.  Bruce needs his glasses adjusted and checked.  He isn't sure they are right.  When we got there, first thing she insisted she clean both of our glasses.

Then they adjusted Bruce's stems and then rechecked them.  They are perfect, he just needs to get used to them. I found another pair of frames I really like

Then we were off to dinner.  There is a restaurant on the pier called Half Moon.
So we ordered chicken satay sand peanut sauce, pork and cashew nut, mixed veggies, and pineapple fried rice. So delicious!

Between the two of us, we licked the plates clean!  Total bill a little over $20.

Hearing the water lap beneath us and crash into the shore is pretty amazing!

Next we were off to stop at the bamboo bowl store. As Maribeth would like one of the bowls...

Of course , I bought the lime green ones, but they also have red and black.

Them it was time for gelato, I haven't had any yet.  This shop is so cute.

I had young coconut and mint chocolate.  Bruce had rum and raisin and cappuccino.  Yummy!

Then it was off to get on the bus and go home.  The bus quits at 9:00, which is perfect for us.
