Wednesday, March 4

City tour day!  Our guide picked us up at 8:00.  We started the day visiting Uncle Ho.

Stop 1- Mausoleum
You have to have pants below your knees so Bruce had to change. Then we needed to go through security and form a single line. Sure enough there he was, peacefully Ina fancy coffin with several guards watching.  No phones or cameras allowed.

He was born in Lotus Village so the top looks like a lotus flower.

Stop 2-  We walked over to where government officials meet.

Stop 3-  Ho Chi Minh Museum

Stop 4-  His house(s) and cars

He lived in one of the electrician's house.

His bedroom

Dining room

His study

Then he moved for sleeping and working to this house on stilts, overlooking the lake and garden.

Step 5- One Pillar Pagoda

People come here if they wish for a son. The king wanted a son and had a dream one night. When he awoke he had a pagoda built just like in his dream and then he got a son.

Praying for a son

Next we went to visit the Temple of Literature. This is the oldest university.  It is a place to pray and study.
